Two very different buyers want the same file. One is decorating a kitchen and wants something that matches the cabinets. A thin script that looks elegant on screen becomes a weeding nightmare in vinyl and a blurred smear on cedar. Look at the thinnest stroke in the design and ask whether it is above the floor for your process: roughly 2mm for vinyl, 3mm for HTV that has to survive washing, and thicker still on any rough or open-grain wood.

Solid block and slab lettering is the safe choice for aprons, towels, and outdoor signs. Save the delicate scripts for smooth maple, where a laser can actually resolve them.

Gift occasions and when to list

Father's Day is the concentrated one. Grilling gear does most of its annual volume in a four week window, so having listings live and photographed by the middle of May is worth more than any other single decision in this category.
